An original Christmas sampler from The Essamplaire, with a stylized daisy border. Trees, shepards, sheep, angels and stars portray the Christmas hymn, "The First Noel." The five pointed star signifies the birth of Christ. The brilliant colors contrast beautifully with the hand-dyed
brown background. Cross, Algerian eye, herringbone, sawtooth, and rococo
stitches are used.
